ETS-Lindgren's newest RF door, the ASDS, is designed to provide a reliable, economical door for your facility. Similar to ETS-Lindgren's other RF doors, the ASDS is designed to be lightweight to allow for easy operation. It uses the industry standard “seal contacts” to provide the RF seal around the door, which are adjustable to increase or decrease the amount of force needed to open and close the door.

Description

To facilitate access into and out of the shielded area, a new ergonomic door handle has been added. Reducing wrist strain, the handle may be grasped in a variety of positions to most comfortably suit the customer.

The ASDS comes with a low profile door threshold. The door construction is designed for durability while featuring an architectural style that is suited for most shielded conference or office areas. Either a wood veneer or laminate finish can easily be applied to suit the facility decor.

Safety

For safety and security, the ASDS comes with the industry standard key and thumb latch door hardware. The door can be installed as an in-swing or out-swing door.

Another option is the 2’ x 2’ RF view window that can be placed within the door. The RF view window uses safety glass and double layer screen mesh to achieve RF performance.

Applications

Available in various sizes and configurations, the ASDS can fulfill many needs. While typically sold in a 4’ x 7’ size, it is also available in 3’ x 7’, 3.5’ x 7, and 5’ x 7’ as a stocked item. Other widths and heights are available but may require some additional design and manufacturing time.

Typically, a shielded office or conference room environment utilizes a single door for entry, however the ASDS is also available as a double door if additional space is needed. Again, a variety of door sizes and combinations are available:

• Dual 4’ door leafs
• 4’ and 3’ leafs
• 4’ and 2’ leafs

The door easily and simply ties into existing RF shields with a typical installation time of a single day, two if the RF shield is not an ETS-Lindgren shield.

Performance

The ASDS door RF attenuation is 60dB @ 1GHz when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-285. If you have questions, or are unsure about your requirements, please contact an ETS-Lindgren representative for the appropriate RF door.

Optional STC 32 and 37 acoustic versions of the ASDS door offer enhanced sound attenuation when integrated with other sound abatement elements associated with both general construction and RF shield components.

System Installation

With a new RF shield, installation of the ASDS door requires a single day. It easily and simply ties into existing RF shields. To modify an existing RF shield, the installation typically requires a single day for an ETS-Lindgren shield and can increase to two or more days for non-ETS-Lindgren shields. Installations are site specific and vary.
